Next Step we have developed for TKE the platform Project Tracking, for the comprehensive management of lift projects, with Microsoft technology: Azure, SharePoint, Power BI and Power Apps.

TK ELEVATOR - Project Tracking

🏆 TK Elevator drives innovation as the global leader in urban mobility solutions

TKE, TK Elevator, is a global leader in urban mobility solutions and is present in over 100 countries. In Spain, it has a network of over 70 regional offices spread across the country and a team of more than 2,700 professionals. In its ongoing commitment to technological innovation and global efficiency, the company has taken another step forward in its digitisation process, with the help of Next Step.

⚙️ The challenge: Managing thousands of lift projects in a global environment

TK Elevator manages a huge volume of technical, budgetary and documentary information, distributed among multiple teams and countries. To improve traceability, coordination and financial control, the company was looking for a solution that would allow it to integrate and more efficiently control all information related to its lift projects. TK Elevator nIt needed a tool that would centralise all the processes relating to the technical and commercial management of its projects.

💡 The solution: Project Tracking, a platform for connecting people, data and technology

Project Tracking is an advanced platform, developed by Next Step, to optimise the comprehensive management of lift projects, ranging from the definition of technical requirements to the management of supplier bids.
The tool centralises all project information, including dimensions, finishes, features, regulations and technical specifications of each unit, ensuring complete traceability throughout the purchasing cycle.

Thanks to its strategic approach, Project Tracking allows the creation and management of projects from scratch, identifying their status in the procurement cycle, assigning the Responsible Project Manager, managing the Project Buyers responsible for the offers, controlling budgets and consolidating all associated technical documentation.
Furthermore, each lift is modelled individually, incorporating all the technical details required for its correct configuration and subsequent installation.

Thanks to Project Tracking, TK Elevator has transformed the technical and commercial management of its lift projects globally, achieving a comprehensive, traceable and collaborative overview of its entire project lifecycle.

⚙️ Technology architecture and development approach

In its first phase, the solution was implemented under an architecture based on Power Apps, Azure SQL Database and SharePoint, combining technological power and operational flexibility:

  • Microsoft Power Apps Development of the user interface and business logic, ensuring a streamlined experience tailored to the needs of the procurement and project management department.
  • Azure SQL Database: Centralised, secure and scalable storage of all structured project information, enabling integration with other corporate systems.
  • Microsoft SharePoint: A document repository for managing drawings, technical data sheets, contracts and any other relevant documentation, with version control and access controls.

This technological combination provides a a robust, scalable and collaborative platform, optimising the workflow efficiency between the technical, purchasing and supplier management teams, and facilitating the digital transformation of the lift project management process.

📊 Business Intelligence: Advanced monitoring with Power BI

To complement the main application, a interactive dashboard in Power BI, which offers a analytical overview of the status of the lift projects.

This dashboard allows you to carry out a detailed tracking of each project, consolidating technical and economic information within an intuitive and dynamic visual environment. The system provides key performance indicators (KPIs) on costs, deadlines, the status of bids and document management, facilitating strategic decision-making by the Procurement department.

Thanks to its direct database connection and integration with the main platform, the dashboard guarantees up-to-date, consistent and accessible data from any device, reinforcing the transparency, traceability and project control.

Technological evolution: Migration to .NET for greater performance and scalability

Due to the increasing volumes of data, concurrent users and operational complexity, in a second phase Next-Step carried out the migration of the platform from Power Apps to an environment developed in .NET.

This strategic decision made it possible to significantly improve performance, stability and responsiveness of the application, ensuring a smoother and more efficient user experience for all relevant users.

The new architecture based on .NET offers a greater flexibility for integration with corporate tools and external systems, such as ERP or CRM platforms, facilitating the interoperability and scalability of the system in complex enterprise environments.

Furthermore, this development lays the foundations for future functional enhancements, driving the digital transformation of the lift project management process towards a completely connected and automated ecosystem.
