For yet another year, a successful event was held around the world. Global Power Platform Bootcamp. GPPB is an international event, but it is held simultaneously in multiple cities around the world and is dedicated to the technologies that make up the ecosystem of the Microsoft Power Platform: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages and Copilot Studio.
The Madrid edition once again consolidated itself as one of the most outstanding at European level, bringing together more than a hundred professionals, enthusiasts and experts from all over the country, to share experiences, best practices and the latest developments in the world of Power Platform.
As in previous calls for applications, Next-Step we went to co-sponsors, co-organisers and speakers in three technical sessions, which were very well received by the audience. Our team shared practical solutions and advanced knowledge on the following topics Power BIaddressing key areas for data professionals.
An event to learn, share and connect
The Global Power Platform Bootcamp is organised on a community basis and free of charge, driven by local user groups and supported by Microsoft. In Madrid it is organised every year by the community Power Platform Madridof which we are proud co-founders. Its aim is to promote the adoption of Microsoft Power Platform technologyto foster collaborative learning and create a meeting point for people with a common interest: transforming business processes through low-code solutions and data analytics.
Throughout the day there were technological sessions, from basic to advanced, given by professionals with extensive experience and knowledge. There was also space for networking and dialogue between attendees and speakers, generating a close, dynamic and very participative atmosphere, which is what characterises this community.
The Next-Step sessions

From Next-Step, we contributed to the event with three sessions focused on the potential of Power BIThe programme is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the issues at stake, combining strategic vision, technical knowledge and practical experience.
🟡 Miguel A. Esteban - Sharing Power BI reports
In this talk, our colleague Miguel Esteban addressed one of the most frequently asked questions among BI users and teams: how can we efficiently, securely and in a controlled way share our BI reports? Power BI? Through examples and case studies, he showed the different publishing options, the implications of each method and how to establish a governance strategy that ensures consistent and scalable use in organisations of any size.
🟡 Eva Higueras - Visual calculations in Power BI
Our partner Eva Higueras presented a session focused on the use of DAX expressions directly applied to visual elements of the report, allowing the construction of indicators and metrics that respond dynamically to the visual context. The presentation showed how to simplify the data model and improve the end-user experience by moving some of the business logic to the visual plane, without sacrificing performance or analytical clarity.
🟡 José Luis Cano Coello - Faster and Further in Power BI with TMDL
Finally, José Luis Cano Coello delved into one of the most eagerly awaited developments of the Power BI in 2025: the Tabular Model Definition Language (TMDL). This new view of the tabular model allows you to edit and manage models of Power BI scripted, replacing or complementing the traditional graphical approach.
During the presentation, José Luis Cano explained how TMDL enables advanced tasks such as mass editing of measurements, automation of changes, or integration with version control systems, functionalities previously reserved for external tools or complex manual processes. The session generated great interest among the more technical attendees, who saw TMDL as a way to improve the efficiency and scalability of their developments.
