CODERE GROUP started its activity in Madrid in 1980 as an operator of gaming machines. In the following 30 years, it consolidated its position throughout Spain, began its expansion in Latin America and diversified its activities into other areas such as bingo halls, betting and casinos. On 19 October 2007, Codere is listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange. In 2008, Codere is the first company to open an on-site betting room in Spain and soon becomes the leader in a new leisure and entertainment sector: sports betting.

Since 2011, it has been promoting the new Gambling Law in Spain and has consolidated its position internationally. It is currently one of the leading companies in Spain and Latin America in the online gambling sector, with its brand name Codere Gambling.

The problem identified: The Business Intelligence solution was outdated.

CODERE BETTING had traditional data analysis and business intelligence tools. However, the addition of the sports betting business line generated an exponential increase in the volume of data, which was difficult to manage with these on-premise technologies.

The growth of the online sports betting business and the volumes it generated made it very costly to maintain.

Codere needed a new technology to manage and analyse its growing volume of data and a technology partner to advise them on the selection and implementation of a new, more advanced and powerful business intelligence solution.

The Solution: Deploying Microsoft Power BI

After a process of technological consultancy and an in-depth analysis of Codere's needs, it was decided to implement the Azure DataWarehouse and Azure Analysis Servicestogether with the business intelligence tool Microsoft Power BI to manage and analyse all business information. Because the suite of Microsoft BI allows for agile and fast analysis of large volumes of highly complex data from different sources, in an agile, fast and secure way. It also allows a comprehensive visualisation of business data, which facilitates decision-making.

Finally, the successful implementation of the Microsoft Power BI and training staff to use the tool autonomously. During these years we have accompanied Codere in the evolution and maintenance of this project, which has revolutionised their way of analysing data and making decisions.
