Last week we celebrated our intermediate level course in data analysis with Microsoft Power BI<\/u>\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Attendees rated the course very positively, because it had met their expectations of making considerable progress in the mastery of the business intelligence tool<\/strong> Power BI<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Power BI<\/strong> is considered to be the best business analysis tool according to the Gartner Quadrant, led by Microsoft in 2019.<\/strong><\/a> \u00a0What sets Power BI apart from traditional tools, such as Tableau or Qlik, is that it provides real-time insights and integrates seamlessly with Excel and the other Office 365 tools. Because it allows you to spot trends, it helps you make better business decisions.<\/p>\n Gartner Magic Quadrant 2019 - Microsoft Power<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n This course of data analysis<\/strong> with Power BI<\/strong> intermediate level required some prior knowledge:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Next-Step Microsoft Power BI Introduction Course<\/p><\/div>\n In the introductory course to Microsoft Power BI<\/strong>We learnt how to use the tool\u00a0Power BI from scratch<\/strong>. We start by understanding what is business intelligence<\/strong> and all the general concepts of business intelligence. We also learned how to consolidate data from different sources (Excel, Access, flat files, web pages, data in the cloud...) and automate the transformation of this data with the Power Query tool.<\/p>\n At the end of the introductory course of Power BI<\/strong> students were able to connect to multiple and varied data sources, easily transform them and visualise them in a customised dashboard, with all their KPI (<\/strong>key performance indicators<\/strong> or key performance indicators) and tailored to their needs. They also knew how to build interactive reports, with the ability to share them with their entire organisation, on any type of device.<\/p>\n \n In this course we have gone deeper into the use of the tool and all its functions:<\/p>\n We have made progress in learning Power Query and we have been introduced to the language M<\/u>:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n We have seen the usefulness and application of the use of inactive relationships and the use of the filter address.<\/p>\n We have learnt how to construct calculated fields, extending the range of functions learnt in the introductory course, such as:<\/p>\n We have used DAX Studio<\/strong> for carrying out these exercises.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We have learned how to restrict the data visualisation<\/strong> depending on the user making the query.
